What is covered under warranty?
Warranty covers defects in workmanship or material for a specific period of time. The type of things that are covered and for how long vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Some warranties may not include "normal wear" items like belts, tires, blades, runners etc. or they may be covered for a shorter period of time than the general warranty. Check owners manual for your individual unit.

What are manufacturing defects?
Manufacturing defects are failures due to defects in material or in the manufacturing of the machine.

What is not covered under warranty?
Failures or problems that are not manufacturing defects. These things happen outside of the normal operation of the machine or out the control of the manufacturer. Some of these may include damage due to an impact like hitting a pipe or rock or dropping the machine while unloading it from a truck
More examples of things which are outside control of the manufacturer are: Excessive grass build up. Water sprayed into bearings, friction plates, gears, oil or fuel. Machine tipped on side spilling oil into the air filter or other cavities. Too much or too little oil. Fuel which has gone bad or has water in it.

Is Proof of Purchase necessary to have something covered under warranty?
Yes.
The reason we require "proof of purchase" (receipt, invoice, bill of sale etc…) is that it provides important information necessary to qualify your right to receive warranty service.

1.) It proves the exact date of purchase. Warranties are time oriented and begin with the date of purchase.

2.) Possession of the bill of sale also indicates that you are the original owner ( generally warranties are non-transferable ).

3.) Also, some units are sold from retailers as “used” or “reconditioned”. These denotations or comments that the unit may have been sold “as is” are generally stated on the receipt.

Your warranty does specifically denote that the “proof of purchase” is required for warranty service.

Can I just bring in the broken part to have it warrantied?
DO NOT bring in just the broken parts or sections of the product for warranty service. The entire product must be brought in to the servicing center for all warranty service (see warranty). This is required as the servicing center needs to inspect the entire machine as well as get any necessary model and code numbers from the machine to order any applicable service parts.
